Darryl grew up in Calgary enjoying the cold winters and dry stale summers until he finished his Computer Science degree at the University of Calgary. Sick of shoveling snow, and people dressing up like cowboys for fun, he followed his wife to Victoria in an attempt to fulfill his dream to become a world famous fishmonger.
Having previously worked as an e-mail systems administrator at the U of C, he found work instead as a short term Systems Analyst for the Fine Arts department with the University of Victoria. With that position closing, Darryl decided to move on to the next best thing other than being a fishmonger, and became the web applications developer for NEPTUNE Canada, and later moved into the observatory power management developer position.
